Milestone Card · Stable · Repeat It
Make Delivery, Handoffs and Quality Repeatable
What it means
The company can deliver ordinary work through a visible critical path with enough consistency that customer quality does not depend on which experienced employee happens to be assigned. The important workflows, handoffs, quality checks and exception paths are explicit. New work does not require experienced people to recreate the operating method from memory each time.
What it requires
The goal is selective standardization. Stable does not need a complete SOP library. It needs clarity around the recurring work where variation damages quality, margin, cash, retention or customer experience. The company should know what “done” means at important handoffs, what information must move with the work, where quality is checked and when an exception should be escalated.
Why it matters
The milestone is strong when different capable employees can produce reasonably similar outcomes and when ordinary handoffs no longer create predictable rework. Tribal knowledge begins to become explicit workflows, examples, standards and exception logic. The method survives beyond the memory of one veteran.
A question to test it
What recent example from your own company would confirm or rule this out?
